4 Flute Solid Carbide End Mill for Steel – up to 55HRC
The Stiger 4 flute end mill is a solid carbide flat-end cutter for steel machining. It is rated for materials up to 55HRC, so it handles carbon steels, alloy steels, tool steels and pre-hardened materials. The four-flute design gives a stronger core and more cutting edges per revolution than a 2 or 3 flute tool. That means higher feed rates, less deflection and a better finish on walls and floors.
Use it for side milling, profiling, contouring, shallow slotting and finishing passes on CNC machining centres and conventional mills. Stub lengths give the most rigidity for heavy cuts. Long-reach versions get into deep pockets and cavities.
Features
- Solid carbide construction – high rigidity, wear resistance and consistent accuracy
- Machines steels up to 55HRC – from mild steel to pre-hardened and heat-treated material
- 4 flute geometry – more edges in the cut for productive feed rates and a smooth surface finish
- Flat end – sharp square corners for shoulders, steps and pocket floors
- Sizes – Ø1 mm to Ø20 mm
- Plain cylindrical shank – suits collet, shrink-fit and hydraulic holders
Applications
Mould and die work, general engineering, jobbing shops, maintenance workshops and production machining. Suitable for side milling, profiling, contouring, pocketing and finishing.
