DLC Coated Solid Carbide End Mill for Aluminium
The Stiger DLC coated end mill is a solid carbide flat-end cutter for high-performance aluminium machining. DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is a very hard, very slippery coating with an extremely low friction coefficient. Aluminium chips slide off the flutes instead of welding to the cutting edge. That stops built-up edge, which is the main cause of poor finish, oversize cuts and broken tools in aluminium.
The result is cleaner cuts, a bright finish straight off the machine and longer tool life at the high spindle speeds and feed rates aluminium demands. Use it for side milling, profiling, slotting, pocketing and finishing on CNC machining centres and routers. Stub lengths give maximum rigidity. Long-reach versions get into deep pockets and cavities.

Applications
Aluminium and aluminium alloys, as well as copper, brass, bronze, plastics, acrylic and composites. Ideal for aerospace and automotive components, enclosures, signage, jigs and fixtures, prototyping and general engineering.
Not recommended for steel, stainless steel or other ferrous materials. Use our 4 flute or ball nose end mills for steel.
